Equality Statement

Quill & Pearl Presents is a fully inclusive organisation. We welcome everybody to our stages and audiences regardless of gender, race, sexuality, age (with the exception of under 18s at some shows due to content), cultural heritage, appearance, background, class, physical or mental capability. This is a safe, inclusive space for all bodies.

Our goal is to platform diverse casts across all of our shows, so that audience members see themselves represented and new artists have role models to aspire to.

We will never cast an all-white cast in any of our shows.

However we accept that with small casts there may be rare times, due to very last minute illness or accident etc, that we find ourselves in a situation where there is not a person of colour in the cast. In these situations we will bend over backwards to rectify this, but ask for your understanding if due to time contraints and artist availibility we are not able to recast.

We believe everyone deserves to be celebrated as their authentic self and have the freedom to express themselves through their art, and/or enjoy watching art by other.

There is no place at our shows for racism, homophobia, transphobia, ablism, ageism, sexism, classism, body shaming or any other troll behaviour. Audience members who do not abide by this will be removed from our shows. No refunds! Artists will not be invited to return our casts.

We always aim to support our visiting artists to the best of our knowledge and abilities. We are pro-active in educating ourselves about the experiences and needs of others but humbly recognise that we do not know everything.

When we know about gaps in our knowledge regarding any aspect of equality and accessibity, we strive to find out and act on it. But we accept there may be times we don’t know that we don’t know! On those occasions we welcome constructive engagement and will always enthusiastically and positively work with you to better our practices.

If there is anything you feel we need to know in advance of performing with us, or watching our shows, we will always listen to you and take immediate steps to address your concerns and support you fully.
